Rachael Sweeney (Vice-President)

Rachael Sweeney - CEO & Founder, Collective Position

  1. What is your work/passion/ side-hustle?

My day job is the CEO and Founder of Collective Position, a government relations consultancy. I have a few side-hustles. I run a small online business that sells resort style accessories (Ritual Travel Boutique) and am also run a few short-term rentals.

2. Beyond the 9 to 5 – what do you live for?

Beyond family and friends which (almost) goes without saying. Lockdowns gave me a burgeoning love affair with gardening (who knew!) I have a healthy habit of buying adorable tid-bits for my even more adorable niece and nephew.  I also love to dance and it is on my bucket list to move to South America for a 12 month sabbatical to dance all day and night to perfect my salsa.

3. How did you land in Wagga - Are you Wagga born and bred, grew up here moved away and returned, moved here later in life and stayed because you love it, or something else that landed you here?

I moved to Wagga in my late high school years after growing up in coastal NSW - it was quite the change.  I loved my time here and made some amazing lifelong friendships.

In late 2019, I decided I needed to get out of Melbourne after sitting in traffic for one too many wasted hours.  Have since loved my time here and all the lifestyle Wagga has to offer.

4. Woman (famous or not) you are most inspired by and why?

There are alot of women who provide inspiration.  I am lucky enough to sit around board tables with quite a few female leaders (still not enough of course) who unknowingly provide astounding mentorship.

My team are such go-getters who put aside their imposter syndrome and throw themselves into bold opportunities. I am also very inspired by my sister who decided to go motherhood alone while holding down a demanding career.
