Mandy Reid - Practice Manager, Active Physiotherapy

  1. What is your work/passion/ side-hustle?

Currently Practice Manager at Active Physiotherapy, I have worked for over 20 years in private and non-profit health related organisations. I have a special interest in quality improvement, practice management, team training, culture building and business development. Fun fact, I successfully facilitated the first National Primary Care Collaborative - way before Zoom was a thing! My side-hustle would be our Hudson Cottage Talbingo Air-BNB. It's been fun renovating the original Snowy Hydro workers cottage and sharing it with guests!

2. Beyond the 9 to 5 – what do you live for

Family! My husband Mal (Opteon Southern Inland Property Valuers), my son who's part of the HSC class of 2020, my daughter, our spoiled 13 year Corgi & COVID dachshund, and I also have active older parents and extensive family.

3. How did you land in Wagga - Are you Wagga born and bred, grew up here moved away and returned, moved here later in life and stayed because you love it, or something else that landed you here?

Born & bred on a farm west of Wagga. I was a "Kywong kid" from a one teacher primary school that no longer exists, and at the age of 12 I headed off to boarding school in Sydney where I quickly developed independence and enjoyed the opportunities on offer - there were more girls in my dormitory than I had ever actually known before! After spending the 80's & most of the 90's in Sydney, followed by a stint in outback Queensland and Western Australia it was time to settle down, so I headed back to Wagga… Met Mal at Romano's & have loved it in Wagga ever since!

4. Woman (famous or not) you are most inspired by and why?

Maisie my grandmother who I remember as being generous, kind & loving - she's also the namesake for our daughter.
