GIOIA GIANNIOTIS
Architect/Director, GPG Architecture & Design

Gioia is a registered Architect and established GPG Architecture & Design in February 2006. Her architectural practice undertakes a diverse range of residential, public and commercial projects and assists clients in various aspects of planning, design and architecture. 

In the 11 years since the establishment of GPG, Gioia has developed an efficient and well-known multi- disciplinary practice with projects located throughout the Riverina, Orange, South Mountains and Albury/ Wodonga regions. Employing a team of four, while also leading teams of numerous contractors of various specialties, her business continues to develop with many successful and multi-million dollar projects in construction and on the drawing board.

Prior to starting GPG, Gioia spent ten years at world-renowned architectural company, The Cox Group under many influential architects. Whilst working with the Cox Group, Gioia was involved in designing many award winning projects.

Gioia’s move to Wagga Wagga in March 2004 from Sydney was for a lifestyle change. She now has two gorgeous boys, Oscar 10 and Rohan 8 and together with her husband Paul, live a well-balanced life in rural NSW. The move to Wagga Wagga created an exciting opportunity for Gioia to establish her own practice and the ability to concentrate more of her time on sustainable building projects that are her passion.

Throughout her career Gioia has been involved in many professional bodies, forums and community activities including being a mentor within the Australian Institute of Architects NSW Chapter Mentoring Program. Despite her regional location, Gioia is keen to participate in this and other programs, giving her the opportunity to contribute to the success of others within the architectural and business community.

Gioia is also interested in gaining the engagement of children and young adults with decision-making for the future of the built environment.  Her practice, GPG Architecture and Design regularly hosts work experience and university students from all over the region.

Gioia was also involved recently in a series of seminars facilitated by the local Council, Smart Homes - Winning ways to save. The seminars focused on presenting the community with energy efficient ways to build or renovate a home. She has been involved in several educational materials produced by the NSW Board of Architects informing the community about Architecture. Gioia, alongside 16 other successful women, was recently selected and has featured in the Women in Business HEAR THEM ROAR video series. The series celebrates the success of women who have achieved outstanding outcomes while living and working locally.

Gioia is prominent figure and leader in her field, being invited to speak on several occasions publicly by local Council and schools. She is passionate about increasing the representation of female leadership within the general business arena and in the construction industry, which is evident with all the community work she does.
